Architects in Peckham
We are Architects in London. This project concept was designed to add a new build house into the garden of a two-storey, double fronted Victorian terraced house located in Peckham. The long, and beautifully planted cottage-style garden leads to the new build house at the end of a lush path.
Our design for this infill house at the end of the garden was conceived with the traditional garden forms in mind, and has a simple pitched roof shape with dark timber cladding. We combined this form with contemporary detailing, as a nod to the building’s urban setting.
Internally the one and a half-storey structure is open and light, incorporating a kitchen / bathroom /living area with mezzanine sleeping platform above. At ground level, two large glazed panels on each side of the structure provide a view through to the courtyard space beyond the new building, and allow the existing garden path’s journey to continue uninterrupted.
